Pinduoduo is a Chinese online retailer focused on the traditional agriculture industry and the primary asset of its parent, PDD Holdings, which also owns the marketplace Temu. It was founded in 2015 by Colin Huang, a Chinese businessman and software engineer, at a time when Alibaba and JD had already consolidated much of the Chinese e-commerce market. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, though PDD Holdings relocated its legal domicile to Dublin, Ireland, in 2023 while operations remain China-focused. By 2020 Pinduoduo had become China's top shopping app by user count with 788.4 million annual active buyers, and as of 2024 it reported revenue of 54.0 billion US dollars, net income of 15.4 billion US dollars, and about 17,403 employees.
