The Philippine News Agency is the official news agency of the Philippine government, founded on March 1, 1973 by President Ferdinand Marcos and headquartered in Quezon City, operating under the News and Information Bureau of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. It gathers and distributes news throughout the Philippines, replacing the private Philippine News Service, and maintains international news exchange agreements with agencies including Reuters, AFP, AP and UPI.
