Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost carrier headquartered in Istanbul, operating primarily out of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport on the city's Asian side, distinct from Turkish Airlines' hub at Istanbul Airport. Founded in 1990 and relaunched with a low-cost business model in the 2000s, Pegasus grew into Turkey's largest low-cost airline, building a network connecting Istanbul and other Turkish cities to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia. The airline has positioned itself as a budget alternative to Turkish Airlines on both domestic Turkish routes and a growing set of international point-to-point connections, operating a fleet built substantially around fuel-efficient narrowbody Airbus aircraft.
