The Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau was the public transportation department of the city of Osaka, Japan, established on September 12, 1903. Over its 115-year history it operated the city trams from 1903 to 1969, trolleybuses from 1953 to 1970, an eight-line municipal subway network from 1933, city buses, and the New Tram automated line from 1981. On April 1, 2018 the bureau was dissolved and split into two private successor companies, Osaka Metro (Osaka Rapid Electric Tramway K.K.) and Osaka City Bus, ending municipal operation of the system.
