Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., also known as Nissan Motor Corporation or simply Nissan, and formerly known as Jidosha-seizo, is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Yokohama, Kanagawa. The company sells its vehicles under the Nissan and Infiniti brands, and formerly under the Datsun brand, with in-house performance tuning products under the Nismo and Autech brands. Its roots trace back to the beginning of the twentieth century and the Nissan zaibatsu, or Nissan Group. The company was founded in December 1933, and since 1999 it has been part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, in which Renault held a 15 percent voting stake as of November 2023.
