Nekso is a ride-hailing company founded in Toronto, Canada, on June 24, 2015, by Vahid Akbari and Azam Mohabbatian under the holding company Blanclink. Its mobile app lets riders book and track taxi rides and pay securely, and rather than competing with traditional taxis the way some rivals do, Nekso partners directly with local taxi firms; by October 2017 it was arranging about 400,000 rides a month for roughly 140,000 active users across more than ten countries in Central and South America, including Ecuador, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. The app is free for riders, and the company earns a percentage of each fare.
