Medibank

Medibank is an Australian private health insurance provider headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, and Australia's largest private health insurer, covering around 4.2 million customers in 2024. It began as a government backed entity in 1976, moved to for profit status in 2009 under the Rudd government, was privatized by the Abbott government in 2014, and now trades as a publicly listed company on the Australian Securities Exchange.
