Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon was a Swiss engineering company based in the Oerlikon district of Zurich, known for early work developing electric locomotives. It was founded in 1876 by the industrialist Peter Emil Huber-Werdmüller under the original name Werkzeug- und Maschinen-Fabrik Oerlikon, operating from a large works next to Oerlikon railway station.
