Mainframe Studios is a Canadian animation studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia and owned by Wow Unlimited Media. It was founded in 1993 as Mainframe Entertainment by five people and became an early leader in computer-generated imagery for television and film. It was a subsidiary of Starz Inc. between 2003 and 2007, after which Rainmaker Income Fund took a majority stake and rebranded it, and the company was renamed again after the 2016 creation of Wow Unlimited Media. In 2020 it took the name Mainframe Studios, returning to its original name. It is best known for ReBoot, the first fully computer-animated half-hour television series, for Beast Wars, and for the Barbie films made with Mattel since 2001.
