The Lao News Agency, formally Khaosan Pathet Lao (KPL), is the official state news agency of Laos and its ruling Communist Party, headquartered in Vientiane. It was established on January 6, 1968, initially serving the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and became the country's official news outlet following the communist takeover in 1976.
