Kosta Boda is a Swedish glassmaking manufacturer of art glass and tableware, founded in 1742 by two former military officers, Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Stael von Holstein, who had served under Charles XII of Sweden. It is based in the town of Kosta, in Sweden's Smaland region, an area known as the Kingdom of Crystal that draws about a million visitors a year. Since 2005 it has operated as part of Orrefors Kosta Boda, a subsidiary of the New Wave Group, and it has manufactured the Eurovision Song Contest trophy since 2008.
