Kadokawa Shoten

Kadokawa Shoten, formerly the Kadokawa Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd., is a Japanese publisher based in Tokyo. On 1 October 2013 it became an internal division of Kadokawa Corporation. It publishes manga, light novels, manga anthology magazines such as Monthly Asuka and Monthly Shonen Ace, and entertainment magazines such as Newtype. Since its founding the Kadokawa name has expanded into the wider multimedia sector, with video games under the Kadokawa Games label and live-action and animated films under Kadokawa Pictures. The entry therefore describes both a publishing house with a long record in comics and fiction and a division inside a larger media group that spans print, games and film.
