Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an American financial services and technology company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 2000 by Jeffrey Sprecher as an electronic energy futures exchange. It has grown into an operator of global financial exchanges and clearing houses, most notably the New York Stock Exchange, which it acquired in 2013, alongside data and mortgage technology businesses.
