inDrive

inDrive is an international ride-hailing and urban services platform, operated by Suol Innovations Ltd, built around a peer-to-peer pricing model in which passengers and drivers negotiate fares directly rather than the platform setting prices. It began in 2012 in Yakutsk, Russia, when a group of students organized independent drivers on social media to counter rising local taxi fares, and officially launched as a service in 2013. Now based in Mountain View, California, inDrive operates in dozens of countries and well over a thousand cities, and has expanded beyond ride-hailing into delivery, intercity transport and financial services through inDrive Money. The company reached unicorn status in 2021 after a 150 million dollar investment round valued it at over a billion dollars.
