Iberdrola, S.A. is a Spanish electric utility company headquartered in Bilbao, formed by the 1992 merger of two Spanish electricity companies, Hidroelectrica Espanola and Iberduero. It is one of the largest electric utility companies in the world and a major global investor in wind power, operating extensively in Spain, in the United Kingdom through its ScottishPower subsidiary, in the United States through its Avangrid subsidiary, and across several Latin American markets.
