Hudson Motor Car Company

Consumer Discretionary

The Hudson Motor Car Company was a Detroit automaker incorporated in 1909 and named for the department store owner Joseph L. Hudson, who put up the first capital. It built Hudson cars and the smaller Essex and Terraplane lines, and its Hornet became a stock car racing legend. Falling sales led it to merge with Nash-Kelvinator in 1954 to form American Motors, and the Hudson name was used on cars through the 1957 model year.
