Wintershall Dea GmbH is a German gas and oil producer formed in May 2019 as a joint venture merging Wintershall Holding GmbH, tracing to 1894, and DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG, tracing to 1899. The privately held company is majority owned by BASF, which holds a 67 percent stake, with the remaining 33 percent owned by LetterOne, and as of 2020 it was considering a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
