Great-West Lifeco

Great-West Lifeco is a Canadian financial services holding company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, controlled by the Power Corporation of Canada group and operating in life insurance, health insurance, retirement and investment services, asset management and reinsurance. It carries on business across Canada, the United States and Europe primarily through its major operating brands Canada Life, Empower and Irish Life, and manages tens of billions of dollars in revenue across a workforce of more than 33,000 employees. Great-West's Canada Life brand traces its own history to a nineteenth-century Canadian life insurer later absorbed and continued under Great-West's wider corporate structure.
