GippsAero, formerly Gippsland Aeronautics, is an Australian aerospace company based at Latrobe Regional Airport in Morwell, Victoria, that designs and builds single-engined utility aircraft, among them the eight-seat GA8 Airvan and the agricultural GA200 Fatman. It began in 1977 as an aircraft maintenance and modification business founded by Peter Furlong, working for organisations such as the National Safety Council of Australia and Esso Australia, and became the incorporated Gippsland Aeronautics Pty Ltd in 1984 when George Morgan joined him. Mahindra Aerospace took a 75.1 percent stake in 2009 and the company was put up for sale in 2020 after Airvan production halted, but Morgan bought it back in November 2023 and complete aircraft production restarted in June 2025, making it the only maker of commercial aircraft in Australia.
