Georgian Film Studio is one of the world's oldest film studios, having produced 800 feature, made-for-television and short films, 600 documentaries and 300 animated films. It grew organically from the merger of several early-twentieth-century Tbilisi film production companies, was renamed several times before becoming Georgian Film in 1953, and today sits on 9.75 hectares in Tbilisi offering sound stages, recording and editing facilities and production services.
