GAC Honda Automobile is a Chinese car-making joint venture based in Guangzhou, owned jointly by Honda and the GAC Group, which is also known as Guangqi. It began as Guangzhou Honda in 1998, set up by the city government as a replacement for a failed venture with Peugeot, and it launched a locally built version of the American Accord in 1999. It took the GAC Honda name in 2009, ran two plants, launched the China-only Everus brand in 2011 and built Acura cars from 2016 to 2022.
