FAQs

What happened to the First Choice and Thomson names after TUI Travel was formed?

The two airlines were merged as Thomson Airways in 2008, and from 2011 the shops became Thomson featuring First Choice.

After the merger, the in-house airlines of the two sides, Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways, were brought together under Thomsonfly's air operator's certificate in May 2008, and the merged airline was rebranded Thomson Airways in November 2008. In October 2011 the company announced a two-year rebranding programme under which its shops would become Thomson featuring First Choice. The First Choice name was to be kept for all-inclusive package holidays sold by the combined network.
