Flipkart Internet Private Limited is an Indian e-commerce company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, founded in October 2007 by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, both IIT Delhi alumni and former Amazon employees, initially focused on selling books online before expanding into electronics, fashion, home essentials, groceries and lifestyle products. Since 2018 Walmart Inc. has held a controlling stake, currently about 85 percent. As of 2023 Flipkart held 48 percent of the Indian e-commerce market, competing primarily with Amazon India and Meesho, and it employed roughly 22,000 people, excluding its Myntra subsidiary, with revenue of 82,787 crore rupees in 2025.
