Fiat Veicoli Industriali

Industrials

Fiat Veicoli Industriali, meaning Fiat Industrial Vehicles, was the truck and bus division of the Italian carmaker Fiat. Fiat's own article says it was created in 1903 with the launch of the 24HP model, and that by 1908 it was producing around 120 trucks, a figure that had grown to 17,000 a year by the end of 1918. The Iveco article places its headquarters in Turin. In the mid 1970s the division was folded into the new Iveco group, which brought together Fiat Veicoli Industriali with OM, Lancia Veicoli Speciali, Unic and Magirus-Deutz. The Iveco article dates that merger to 1 January 1975, while the Fiat article says the operation closed in 1974 when Fiat created Iveco, so both years are recorded. Iveco was later demerged into Fiat Industrial in 2011 and became a separate listed group in 2022.
