DNA Productions was an American animation studio and production company based in Irving, Texas. John A. Davis and Keith Alcorn founded it in 1987 after leaving a Dallas animation company, starting with a five thousand dollar loan, and the name stands for Davis N Alcorn. For about a decade it was a small shop of six employees making commercials and corporate videos for clients such as Dairy Queen and Kroger. A partnership with the filmmaker Steve Oedekerk brought its breakthrough in 1997, with the television specials The O Show and Santa vs. the Snowman, followed by Cartoon Sushi and Olive, the Other Reindeer in 1999. The studio is best known for the character Jimmy Neutron, who debuted in the 2001 film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and led to a Nickelodeon television series that aired from 2002 to 2006. Its final film project was The Ant Bully, released in 2006.
