DHL Group, legally Deutsche Post AG, is a German multinational logistics and package delivery company headquartered in Bonn. Its postal division traces to the historic German state postal service, while its DHL parcel and courier brand originated as a separate American courier company founded in 1969 by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn, whose initials gave the brand its name; Deutsche Post acquired a majority stake in DHL beginning in 1998 and full ownership by 2002. The group's postal division delivers tens of millions of letters each day within Germany, making it the largest such operator in Europe, while its DHL-branded parcel, express, freight forwarding and supply chain divisions operate in more than 220 countries and territories; the company rebranded its group-level name from Deutsche Post DHL Group to simply DHL Group in 2023, and it was the largest logistics company in the world by revenue as of 2022.
