Compass International Pictures was an independent American film production and distribution company founded in 1977 by producers Irwin Yablans and Joseph Wolf, best known for producing horror films between 1977 and 1981 including its most notable release, Halloween (1978). The company closed in 1981 and was revived four years later under the name Trancas International Films, which currently holds copyright to the Halloween film franchise.
