China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. is a Chinese hydroelectric utility headquartered in Beijing and Yichang, one of the largest hydropower generation companies in the world by installed capacity. It was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation, the state-owned entity built to construct and operate the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River, and it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2003 to hold and operate the Three Gorges Dam's generating assets along with other major dams the parent group later injected into the company. China Yangtze Power operates the Three Gorges Dam, the Gezhouba Dam and several other giant hydroelectric stations along the Yangtze River, together representing one of the largest concentrations of hydroelectric generating capacity anywhere in the world. The company remains majority owned by its state-controlled parent, China Three Gorges Corporation.
