China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, commonly known as Sinopec Group, is a Chinese state owned oil and gas enterprise headquartered in Beijing, established in February 2000. It is the world's largest oil refining conglomerate, carrying out exploration, production, refining, retail fuel distribution and petrochemical manufacturing, and it also produces lubricants, synthetic fibers and polymers. Its publicly traded arm, also called Sinopec, is listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges, while the parent group is overseen by the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission on behalf of China's State Council. In 2024 the company reported revenue of about three trillion yuan and employed roughly three hundred fifty six thousand people, ranking sixth in the world by revenue.
