Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is an American diversified energy company headquartered in Dover, Delaware, whose roots as a natural gas distribution business on the Delmarva Peninsula reach back to the nineteenth century, though the company took its present corporate form in the mid-twentieth century. Chesapeake Utilities distributes natural gas and provides other energy services chiefly across Delaware, Maryland, Florida and a handful of other states, having diversified its regulated utility business over time to include propane distribution and other energy-related operations alongside its core natural gas business.
