Cenovus Energy Inc. is a Canadian integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, formed in 2009 when Encana split its conventional oil and gas and oil sands businesses in two. It produces oil from Canadian oil sands and conventional fields and refines petroleum products, and significantly expanded its refining and oil sands operations with its 2021 acquisition of Husky Energy.
