The Caribbean News Agency, known as CANA, was a news agency founded in 1975 to serve the Caribbean region, succeeding Reuters' Caribbean service. Owned by stake holding media companies, it operated as a cooperative that shared regional news among Caribbean print and broadcast outlets, and in 2000 it merged with the Caribbean Broadcasting Union to form the not for profit Caribbean Media Corporation, based in Barbados.
