Bedford Vehicles, usually shortened to Bedford, was a brand of vehicle manufactured by Vauxhall Motors, then a subsidiary of General Motors. It was established in April 1931 to build commercial vehicles and became a leading international lorry brand, with substantial export sales of light, medium and heavy lorries throughout the world. Its products ranged from bus chassis and military vehicles to trucks and light commercial vehicles, such as the Bedford TK. Its core heavy trucks business was divested by General Motors in 1987 as AWD Trucks.
