Bechtel Corporation is an American privately held engineering, construction and project management company and the largest construction company in the United States by revenue. Warren A. Bechtel founded it in 1898 when he began contracting railroad grading work in Oakland, California, and the company went on to build major infrastructure projects worldwide, including the Hoover Dam and stretches of the Trans-Arabian Pipeline.
