Babelsberg Studio

Babelsberg Film Studio, also known as Studio Babelsberg, is a film studio in Potsdam-Babelsberg outside Berlin, Germany, producing films since 1912, making it the oldest large-scale film studio in the world. With a total area of about 460,000 square meters and a studio area of about 25,000 square meters, it is also Europe's largest film studio, and has hosted productions including Fritz Lang's Metropolis in 1927, Josef von Sternberg's The Blue Angel in 1930, and more recent films such as Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and The Matrix Resurrections in 2021. As of January 2022 it is owned by TPG Real Estate Partners and Filmbetriebe Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
