The Athens-Macedonian News Agency, known as AMNA, is a Greek state-owned news agency organized as a public entity anonymous company, established on 9 December 2008 by presidential decree merging two earlier agencies, the Athens News Agency and the Macedonian Press Agency. It is headquartered jointly in Athens and Thessaloniki and is governed by a nine-member board drawing representatives from journalists' unions, newspaper owners, universities and its own staff.
