Alibaba Group is a Chinese multinational technology company specializing in e-commerce, retail and cloud computing, founded in Hangzhou in 1999. It operates some of the world's largest online marketplaces, including Alibaba.com, Taobao and Tmall, and its 2014 initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, which raised twenty five billion dollars, was at the time the largest in world history.
