Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA) is Italy's leading news agency, headquartered in Rome and founded on January 15, 1945 by representatives of the postwar political resistance movements. It operates as a not-for-profit cooperative owned by 36 member organizations, mostly major Italian newspaper publishers, and distributes more than 3,500 news items and 1,500 photographs each day to media and institutions in more than 78 countries.
