99, formerly known as 99Taxis, is a vehicle for hire company based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, founded in 2012 by Paulo Veras, Renato Freitas and Ariel Lambrecht. It grew from its Sao Paulo launch to operate in roughly 500 Brazilian cities before Chinese ride hailing company DiDi acquired it outright in January 2018, reportedly for about 600 million US dollars.
