Dots is an American brand of gum drop candy marketed by Tootsie Roll Industries. Mason introduced the candy and trademarked it in 1945; Tootsie Roll Industries acquired the brand in 1972 when it bought the Mason Division of the Candy Corporation of America. The company reports that more than four billion Dots are produced each year at its Chicago plant and describes the brand as the top selling gum drop in the United States, and the candy is made to be vegan, gluten free, nut free, peanut free, halal and kosher.
