Baby monitor

A baby monitor is a radio system that lets a caregiver remotely listen to sounds from an infant, using a transmitter with a microphone placed near the crib and a receiver with a speaker the caregiver carries elsewhere in the home. Many modern monitors add two way audio so a parent can speak to the baby, the ability to play music, and video, sometimes called a baby cam, along with features such as temperature monitoring and movement sensors on more advanced models.
