Chumby

Chumby was a consumer electronics device made by Chumby Industries, an embedded computer that connected to the internet and local networks over Wi-Fi and ran small software widgets to show information such as weather, news or photos. It premiered at Foo Camp in August 2006, roughly resembled a small clock radio with a resistive touchscreen, came in six colors, and went on commercial sale in February 2008 before being discontinued in 2012. It ran mostly open source, Linux-based software and could display customizable Adobe Flash widgets; Sony later built a related device called the Sony Dash using Chumby underlying technology.
