AllJoyn is an open source software framework that lets compatible devices and applications discover each other and communicate and work together across different product categories, platforms, brands and connection types, aimed largely at Internet of Things devices. It was first released in December 2013 and was originally promoted by the AllSeen Alliance, a group backed by the Linux Foundation, until that group merged into the Open Connectivity Foundation in 2016; AllJoyn source code moved to GitHub in 2018. Qualcomm originally developed the framework before its stewardship passed to the Linux Foundation and then the Open Connectivity Foundation.
