Pampers is a brand of disposable diapers developed by Procter & Gamble chemist Victor Mills, first test-marketed in 1961 after Mills sought an alternative to washing his grandchildren's cloth diapers. It played a central role in making disposable diapers a mainstream consumer product across the developed world in place of reusable cloth diapers, and it remains one of the best-selling diaper brands globally and one of Procter & Gamble's largest product lines.
