Food Delivery Industry

The food delivery industry lets customers order food, for delivery or self pickup, from a website or application, spanning everything from ready to eat restaurant meals to unprocessed groceries. Global revenues for online food delivery rose from about 90 billion dollars in 2018 to about 294 billion dollars in 2021, and established restaurant brands such as Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's now operate alongside newer third party delivery platforms. This rise of delivery platforms has been described as a delivery revolution that has fundamentally changed how consumers access prepared meals.
