Vistra Corp. is an American power generation and retail electricity company headquartered in Irving, Texas, formed in 2016 as the successor to the competitive generation and retail businesses of the former Texas power company TXU following its bankruptcy reorganization. It expanded significantly through its 2018 merger with Dynegy Inc., and now operates power plants and sells electricity to residential and business customers across multiple states.
