PPL Corporation is an American utility holding company headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, formed as the parent of Pennsylvania Power & Light, an electric utility founded in 1920. It provides electricity and, through subsidiaries acquired over time, natural gas service to customers in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Rhode Island, and for a period also owned electricity distribution businesses in the United Kingdom before divesting them in 2021.
