Welltower Inc. is an American real estate investment trust headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, founded in 1970 as Health Care REIT, one of the first REITs focused specifically on health care and senior housing real estate. It owns and invests in properties including senior living communities, medical office buildings and outpatient facilities across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and adopted its current name in 2015.
