Arcelor SA

Arcelor SA was a Luxembourg-based steel producer formed in 2002 through the merger of Aceralia of Spain, Usinor of France and Arbed of Luxembourg. Headquartered in Luxembourg City, it became the world's largest steel producer by turnover, reporting revenue of about 30.2 billion euros and shipments of 45 million metric tons of steel in 2004, and made long steel products, flat steel products and stainless steel. Arcelor ceased to exist as an independent company in 2006, when it was taken over by Mittal Steel and merged into ArcelorMittal.
