Albemarle Corporation is an American specialty chemicals company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, spun off from Ethyl Corporation in 1994. It is one of the world's largest producers of lithium, a key raw material for rechargeable batteries, and also produces bromine specialty chemicals and catalysts for oil refining.
